How would you describe your style?
Our style is more about our approach which is super casual capturing moments of authenticity mixed in with epic scenes and romance. To describe it in more detail, we like to call this refined editorial encompassing documentary storytelling, raw emotions, natural candids, intimate moments and timeless portraiture. We achieve this with a blend of ‘letting things happen’ and direction.
How do we know if we’d be a good fit?
Our promise is to take romantic and timeless photos that will tell your story. We want you to feel comfortable, have an awesome time on the day and don’t mind a bit of direction to get those classic, whimsical and intimate shots.
Who is ‘collections photography’?
My name is Sash and Collections photography was created purely out of a passion to document fine art weddings – the romance, the portraits, the elegance, the candid, the laughter and the tears. I have been photographing weddings for a long time, being involved in a successful wedding studio for a number of years. I felt it was time to branch out into a more personalised brand which is how Collections began. Along the way I have created a super small collection of amazing associate photographers that make up the Collective who share the same vision, style & approach.
How many photos do we get?
We don’t actually aim to deliver a certain amount of images as every wedding is different but we do believe that creating a collection of several hundred awesome OMG photos is way better than several thousand standard ones! Having said that, we typically provide between 600 and 1000 final images depending on the wedding and coverage.
Do you edit our photos and how do we get them?
We definitely do, but not too much. Every image is edited in our signature style “analogue film inspired and natural” in a blend of Colour & B&W. Every image is then uploaded to a private online gallery from which you are able to download the files (both the high and web sized versions are available for download).
When will we receive our photos?
The beauty of the digital age is that we generally edit your photos straight after your wedding. We spend the time required and upload them to your very own private online gallery within 4-6 weeks. While you’re checking out your gorgeous online pics, you can download the hi-res files and also purchase prints if desired.
We feel awkward in front of the camera, can you help us?
We totally get how you feel! No need to worry, we have been doing this a long time and are known for our super chilled & fun approach. This is also why it’s so important to chat before the big day. We’ll break the ice and get to know each other a little so it’ll be more like hanging out rather than a photo shoot. shoot.
Can you do only candid photos? We don’t want any posed ones.
We have our own super friendly way of directing/making suggestions of where to stand, go for a walk, etc, and snap candid shots of these. We do also believe in the importance of family which is why we’ll take a few portraits, your parents will love them! Don’t worry these family/friends portraits are super casually directed.
What are your prices/packages?
We believe your wedding photos to be an investment rather than a cost. With the amount of photographers out there we understand that choosing the right one is not an easy task. If you’re after a vendor to take some photos at your event then we most likely aren’t what you’re looking for. We put our heart and soul into every single wedding we do. We consider it an honour and privilege to be chosen and our ultimate aim is to team up with like minded couples who share our vibe and style and just know that we’re a good fit. Can we meet before the wedding?
Yes we can. We feel it’s so important to meet and build a relationship with our couples so that the experience on the day is relaxed and comfortable. Video and phone calls are the most common way. .
Do you offer albums?
Our albums are what we specialise in. There’s nothing like a tangible work of art to relive the biggest day of your lives. The journey begins with you selecting your absolute faves from the day and we’ll do the rest. We’ll show you what we’ve come up with for changes/approval then the finishing touches are made before sending off to the album company. These beautiful albums are handcrafted and printed on museum quality archival fine art matte paper, then book bound in luxurious linen or gorgeous vegan leather. We have several cover options included as a standard but also have a premium leather cover option as an upgrade.
