FAQ’s

How would you describe your style?

My style is more about my approach which is super casual capturing moments of authenticity mixed in with epic scenes and romance. To describe it in more detail, I like to call this artistic photojournalism encompassing documentary storytelling, raw emotions, natural candids, intimate moments and timeless portraiture. I achieve this with a blend of ‘letting things happen’ and minimal direction.

How do we know if we’d be a good fit?

My ideal couple are usually going with a ‘not so traditional’ style and are wanting their photos to look natural and fun with an artistic edge. I want you to feel comfortable, have a blast on the day and don’t mind a teeny weeny bit of direction to get those whimsical and intimate shots.

Who is ‘collections photography’?

Collections photography was created purely out of a passion to document fine art weddings – the candid, the portraits, the elegance, the laughter and the tears. I have been photographing weddings for a long time, being involved in a successful wedding studio for a number of years. I felt it was time to branch out into a more personalised brand which is how collections began. My good friend and associate photographer Adrian is a super creative artist who is a fellow musician (but just better and more successful than I am) and found he’s calling in capturing couples in love. We met when i photographed he’s brother’s wedding after which we started working together on this crazy but awesome journey. If you book 2nd photography with me, it's usually Adrian that will come out as long as he is available, otherwise I have several colleague/friends who are full time photographers too that I can call on.

How many images will we receive?

I don’t actually aim to deliver a certain amount of images as every wedding is different but I do believe that creating a collection of several hundred awesome OMG photos is way better than several thousand standard ones! Having said that, I typically provide between 400 and 800 final images depending on the wedding and coverage.

Do you edit our photos and how do we get them?

I definitely do, but not too much. My editing style is fairly natural with a warm finish for the colour images and I love to include a retro inspired b&w to flavour things up a bit. Every image is then uploaded to a private online gallery from which you are able to download the files. You'll also receive a gorgeous USB in a custom linen box together with 10 handpicked fine art prints.

When will we receive our photos?

The beauty of the digital age is that I generally edit your photos straight after your wedding. I spend the time required and upload them to your very own private online gallery within 3-4 weeks. While you’re checking out your gorgeous online pics, you can download the hi res files and also purchase prints if desired.

We feel awkward in front of the camera, can you help us?

I totally get how you feel (why do you think I'm on the other side of the camera!) Seriously though, no need to worry, I normally take a super chilled approach. This is also why it’s so important to meet/chat before the big day. We'll break the ice and get to know each other a little so it’ll be more like hanging out rather than a photo shoot.

Can you do only candid photos? We don’t want any posed ones.

I love candid + natural photos too and the bulk of what I do is just that (my version of them anyway). I have my own super friendly way of directing/making suggestions of where to stand, go for a walk, etc, and snap candid shots of these, but the real magic happens in between when people don't know I'm taking them. Those are my favourite shots! I do also believe in the importance of family which is why I'll take a few portraits, your parents will love them! Don't worry these family/friends portraits are super casually directed.

What are your prices/packages?

I believe your wedding photos to be an investment rather than a cost. With the amount of photographers out there I understand that choosing the right one is not an easy task. If you’re after a vendor to take some photos at your event then I most likely aren’t what you’re looking for. I put my heart and soul into every single wedding I do. I consider it an honour and privilege to be chosen and my ultimate aim is to team up with like minded couples who share my vibe and style and just know that we’re a good fit. If what you’ve seen and read so far is resonating with you, don’t hesitate to contact me, I'd love to hear about your ideas and plans! My pricing starts at $3300 - email me some info and I'll reply with my PDF pricing guide.

Can we meet before the wedding?

Yes we can. I would love to meet up at one of my favourite spots for a coffee or a glass of vino/beer and a chat. It’s so important to the feel of the day and the photos that we break the ice beforehand and see if our personalities gel. I'll bring along a few albums for you to check out and answer all of your queries and might even pass on some Wedding wisdom from my 16+ years in the biz!

Do you offer albums?

My albums are what I specialise in. There’s nothing like a tangible work of art to relive the biggest day of your lives. The journey begins with you selecting your absolute faves from the day and I’ll do the rest. I’ll show you what I’ve come up with for changes/approval then the finishing touches are made on photoshop before sending off to the album company. These beautiful albums are handcrafted and printed on museum quality archival fine art matte paper, then book bound in luxurious linen or gorgeous genuine leather with your names embossed on the cover. I have several cover options included as a standard but also have premium cover options available. Go to the Album page for more info + pics.

We love everything and would love to book you!

Awesome!!! I am absolutely honoured to be chosen to play my part in your wedding journey! Get in touch and I’ll run you through the next steps.
